Local Business Donors

May 11, 2026 Leave a Comment

Our trivia night would not have been nearly as successful (we raised $9190 for menstruators in need!!) without the generous contributions of RVA’s local business community. Thanks to all of the many businesses who donated.

Silent Auction is LIVE… and the Prizes are Good.

April 20, 2026

We’re thrilled to announce that Sylvia’s Sisters’ first-ever online silent auction is officially open for bidding! Whether you’re looking for a beach getaway, a stunning photo session, or the perfect evening in, we’ve got something for you. Every bid goes directly toward ending period poverty in Richmond.

A sample of what’s up for grabs:

  • OBX beach house: The Chillax Inn in Corolla, NC sleeps 8 and comes with a private pool and hot tub. Two blocks from the ocean. Need we say more?
  • Photo session with Mx. Bex Photography: A 2-hour weekday session with a talented photographer at The Estate at River Run, a breathtaking Georgian Revival mansion overlooking the James River.
  • Richmond date night package: Start with three premium blowouts at Drybar Westhampton, then catch a show with two tickets to Firehouse Theatre, finish the night with a $50 Shyndigz gift card, and take home a piece of Richmond with art postcards by local artist David French.
  • Language learning + A taste of Paris: This worldly-inspired package includes four 30-minute language or tutoring sessions with local company Enjoyable Languages (in any language or subject!) plus a curated collection of Parisian goodies. Magnifique.

Bidding closes at 8pm on April 30 (that’s right in the middle of our Trivia Night fundraiser at Hardywood Richmond!). You don’t have to be there to win, but we’d love to see you there.

Help us keep girls in school next year!

Sylvia’s Sisters fights period poverty—the inability to afford or access menstrual products—by providing period product kits to schools and organizations in Central Virginia. These kits contain enough pads, tampons and liners to last one menstruator one month. At this party, we’ll have stations set up at which volunteers can pack kits with products. All supplies will be provided; just bring yourself!

All are welcome—seasoned volunteers or those who have never heard of our organization. Bring friends and family! Children and teens are welcome. Our staff is happy to sign off on volunteer hours.
